B: 맞아. 그 계획은 분명히 조금 수정이 필요해, 하지만 그것이 내게 생각할 꺼리를 줬지.

 

pie in the sky : ‘어떤 생각이나 계획이 전혀 떠오르지 않다.’ 공허한 약속이나 생각을 의미한다. 이 표현은 미국인 Joe Hill이 1911년에 만든 것이다. ‘Pie in the sky’는 Hill이 만들었던, ‘The preacher and the Slave’에 나오는 표현이다.
